Cnephasia jactatana is a 10 mm body length moth tortrix moth species endemic to New Zealand and is primarily known as an important pest of Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa). The eggs are laid on the topside of leaves. They prefer the older leaves. When hatched the caterpillars feed on kiwifruit leaves, and may damage the skin of the fruit and cause more deep flesh damage than any other leafroller. Furthermore, this species also feeds on other important plants, such as Vitis (Grapes), Citrus, Crataegus (Hawthorns), Diospyros (Ebonies), Eucalyptus, Fuchsia, Persimmons and Ebonies (Diospyros).
Cnephasia jactatana is not present in any of the countries that import New Zealand horticultural crops as it is considered to be a quarantine pest.
