Asplenium hauraklense is a form of Asplenium flaccidum whose natural habitat is confined to coastal rocks and cliffs from the Three King Islands in the north of New Zealand to the Bay of Plenty. It is often found growing under pohutukawa were the soil is rich from bird droppings. It prefers light and is the only fern that tolerates plenty of manure.
