Carmichaelia corrugata is endemic to New Zealand and is found in Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago. It inhabits sparsely vegetated gravel and sand soils, stone and gravel ridges, river terraces and disturbed sites.
It is small rhizomatous shrub up to 20-80 mm tall, 1 m wide. Flowers are violet/purple or white and are produced in October–May.
