Entoloma translucidum is a terrestrial mushroom in the large genus of pink-gilled mushrooms Entoloma, with about 1000 species worldwide. It is found throughout New Zealand. It inhabits grass areas, paddocks and sometimes in forests under Nothofagus spp., Leptospermum spp., and different Podocarpaceae.
Entoloma translucidum is characterised by its 20-35 mm diameter, dark brown, fading to grey-beige conical pileus and the conspicuous concentric zones on it. The stipe is 50-75 long and 2-4 mm wide. It is cylindrical, concolourous or lighter than the pileus, strongly fibrillose, dry, hollow and very brittle.
The photo shows the typical shading but sometimes the zoning can barely be seen.
