Gellonia pannularia is a native moth (4.5 cm wingspan) found throughout New Zealand. during January through to March. It rests with wing patterns lined up for camouflage. Gellonia pannularia has more strongly scalloped hind wings than Gellonia dejectaria (Brown evening moth).
