This is small spider 3 to 4mm body length. They are hunting spiders found on leaves of shrubs in our forest and are active during the day. They are active during the day. The genus name Viridictyna as its name implies is green in colour. This spider builds a flimsy sheet web across the surface of a leaf. Their eggs are found as a flat silk discs on the surface of a leaf.

This small spider was found crawling on the outside of a wool sack (see weave) used to put  Tradescantia fluminensis in while weeding on the Te Hunui walkway.
