Hebe truncatula is endemic to the Ruahine Ranges west of Hawkes Bay. It grows as a flat topped shrub up to 2.5m around forest margins. The narrow leaves have a shiny dark gree upper surface and a paler under surface, and are up to 4cm long and up to 10mm wide. The inflorescences are up to 6cm long with white flowers whose lobes (rounded projection) can be tinged with mauve.
